Lahden seudun oppaat - Lahti Region Guides Association

– Tours and experiences with a big heart since 1975 – (Formerly Lahti Guides Association, 1976–2000)

The Lahti Region Guides Association (Lahden seudun oppaat) was founded in February 1975. While operations initially began in the city of Lahti, the association has since expanded through regional guide courses to cover several municipalities across the Päijät-Häme region.

We have just under thirty active guides in our association. In addition to Finnish, our guides offer services in English, Swedish, Spanish, German, French, Russian, Estonian, and Italian.

You can find profiles of our guides on the Visit Lahti website (link opens in a new tab).

Our association is a member of the Finnish Guide Association (link opens in a new tab), through which we engage in international cooperation with guide associations in other countries.

Interested in becoming a tour guide?

Being a professional tour guide is both fun and rewarding. Lifelong learning is at the core of what we do. You will study history, local customs, group and time management, negotiation skills, storytelling, public speaking, and much more. In our region, guides are trained by the tourism department at Salpaus Further Education.

If you are interested in working as a tour guide, please send us an email. We would be happy to tell you more! We also welcome nature and wilderness guides to join our association.

Lahti Environmental Award 2021: Honorable Mention

On September 25, 2021, the Lahti Region Guides Association was granted an Honorable Mention as part of the Lahti Environmental Awards.

This recognition was awarded by the City of Lahti in appreciation of our work promoting the city since 1975, with a special emphasis during 2020–2021 on highlighting environmental issues and Lahti’s role as the European Green Capital.
